The NHS dm+d (dictionary of medicines and devices) database can be viewed through a feature included in the emc market access solution, called emc med data.
Quickly access the dm+d with the emc med data browser
Other browsers to dm+d data have limitations and can be quite timely, the emc market access solution's browser tool is a new platform developed by Datapharm (formerly the dm+d browser), in which users can access the dm+d database with an improved user experience, including the ability to:
- Search medicines by name, supplier or ID
- Filter results based on several variables: ingredients, forms, routes, manufacturers and filter out discontinued products
As well as the above, the emc med data browser product search filters are all on one page, simplifying the need to scroll through lots of information. The dm+d products are also uniquely mapped to emc SmPCs and PILs, a more user-friendly way of accessing information.
More than 1,000 users have already signed up for the emc market access solution's browser tool (emc med data), including CCGs and pharma users.
Who can access emc med data?
UK healthcare professionals can access emc med data by creating an account here. You will need to provide your company or NHS email address.
We are proud to offer the NHS free access to the emc med data browser to improve the accessibility, effectiveness and excellence of healthcare product information for healthcare professionals treating their patients.
Pharmaceutical companies in the UK can subscribe to the emc market access solution's package, to search, update and maintain medicine information in the dm+d database, and wider supply chain.
